BTEC Performing Arts
What do I need?
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths, English Language and a GCSE or BTEC level 2 equivalent in Science.
Why Study BTEC Performing Arts?
A performing arts BTEC gives students the opportunity to combine their creative talents with the practical aspects of self-promotion and arts management. This mix of disciplines is a good preparation for the tough world of artistic performance.
The course is practically based and will involve lots of work in the school and community
What will I study?
The Course is made up of 4 units
- Investigating Practitioners Work
- Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance
- Group Performance Workshop
- Performing Arts in the Community
How will I be assessed?
The new BTEC national will assess you in three ways:
Assignments - You will complete a series of tasks set in a work-related scenario and produce a portfolio of evidence.
Tasks - In controlled conditions, you will complete a practical task tackling an everyday challenge.
Written Exam - You will draw on essential information to create written answers to practical questions in test conditions.
